Recognitions: Gold Award
The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award in Girl Scouting. It symbolizes outstanding accomplishments in the areas of leadership, community service, career planning and personal development. A girl must be a registered Senior Girl Scout and have successfully completed specific requirements before she may begin working on the Girl Scout Gold Award project. This special project is an extension and a compilation of all that she has learned in Girl Scouting.
The following files and paperwork will help get you started on your way to earning your Gold Award:
- GSCTX Gold Award Information Packet

- GSCTX Gold Award Pyramid

- GSCTX Gold Award Checklist

Document your Gold Award with the following paperwork:
- GSCTX Gold Award Journal
This journal should be used as an accompaniment the Girl Scout Gold Award Go For It! insert to document your Gold Award work. You must share it with your advisor in order to get the signatures needed on the GSCTX Gold Award Paperwork. You do not need to turn in the Gold Award Journal to council for review.
- GSCTX Gold Award Paperwork
This paperwork must be turned into the council for review. When you are ready to turn in your project pre-approval or final papers, turn in to the council office. The Gold Award Committee will meet once a week. Allow for two weeks to hear back from the committee.
The deadline for 2009-2010 is April 1, 2010. This deadline is for applicants who want to be recognized at a 2010 Council Recognition Event, which will incorporate the Gold and Silver Award Celebration, the Cookie Celebration and Volunteer Recognition. Council Recognition Events will be held May 8 in Brenham, May 15 in Waco, May 22 in San Angelo and June 5 & 6 in Austin. This is also the deadline to be recognized at the 2010 Statewide Gold Ceremony on Monday, June 14, 2010.
